Welcome to this week’s Amusing Challenges. We’ll be celebrating Father’s Day as our theme but you are welcome to link up any masculine card this week.
Each Sunday I’ll be having a different type challenge – but over a month you will see: “use it”, theme, color or a sketch challenge. This month’s random prize winner will receive a package of 25 assorted a•muse studio paper flowers from me…
I made a card especially for my Dad. He loves feeding birds year round but in the winter he is so dedicated – tromping through thick snow to keep all of the feeders nice and full. Here are some yellow grosbeaks I snapped a photo of during my last visit there.
For my card I used a Tim Holtz die (this is the birdcage/bird one) and I cut the shape from thin cardboard. This bird went through quite a bit to end up like this! First I painted it with blue MM scrapbooking paint. Too blue. Next I dragged my sugar a•muse studio ink pad across it. Hmm…better. I tried the Winter Sky color next, a toned down type of blue. I like it! Walk away a bit and think about sponging French Roast on the edges. Very nice! Go put away folded laundry and think some more – ah ha!! I stamp a flourish from Oranate Elements and it’s perfect!! 🙂
Other a•muse studio products I used: grass, vanilla and cocoa cardstock, woodgrain impression plate, Beautiful Botanicals, Essential Sentiments, Harlequin Background, Ornate Elements and inks: sugar, toffee, lichen, grass, winter sky, french roast. My music score stamp set is from Purple Onion Designs but a•muse studio also carries a lovely one – I just happened to have one already!
It’s super easy to play along with Amusing Challenges:
- Link your creation to your blog, gallery (SCS or Flicker, to name a few) before midnight of the following Sunday.
- Use any product but please follow the challenge criteria.
- Double your chances to win by using a•muse studio products (just link in twice please)
- Please tell your friends about my challenge – I’ll be sure to visit each entry by the following Monday!
