Amusing Challenge – anything goes

I can hardly believe this is the last weekend in January!  Of 2014!!  Welcome to my Amusing Challenge … this week’ is an ANYTHING GOES theme.  Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing for one lucky Grand Prize winner. January’s end of the month winner will receive this stamp set, All My Heart from A Muse Studio.

Juliet did another wonderful ATC this week.  She calls it a double kissing technique!  The background is created by kissing a splash-sprayed piece against another piece because one had too much color on it for her, brilliant!  The A Muse Studio Nordic Noel bird is kissed with the same branch stamp that i have used around the edges.

I love the playfulness of Cyndi’s cards and always think to myself, “why didn’t I think of that?!”.  I hope you are inspired too!  Here she used Love Machines and Rock Star for a fun little boy’s card…both stamp sets are from A Muse Studio.  You can click on the card to see it bigger and appreciate the embossed and glossy areas.

My card today used one of my favorite techniques – emboss resist!  It also happens to work great with Splash!  Did you know that A Muse Studio carries 17 different colors of Splash?  Yup, and I have the entire collection after earning them as an A Muse Studio consultant.  {We always have chances to win/earn product so if you ever want to learn more about making your hobby something more, and with a great team of ladies and a super company – email me!}

So here is my card (inspired by Tobi Crawford) which uses two stamp sets, Silver Linings and At First Sight,  both are on sale right now during A Muse Studio’s Sweet Sale.  I embossed them with white embossing powder on Bristol cardstock.  With a paint brush, I lightly wet the entire piece before spraying on Splash in these colors:  Payaya, Blush, Grapefruit and Cherry.  With the same paintbrush I just smoothed out the sprays in up and down strokes and set it aside to dry.  Once dry, I lightly buffed the hearts to get rid of the extra spray and then used my Tall Alphabet die set from the A Muse Studio Valentine’s Day supplement to cut out the word LOVE from Sugar cardstock.  The last step was to stamp the sentiment “you” from the set, At First Sight.  My tiny die cuts were easy to attach using the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and all my supplies are from A Muse Studio.
