Amusing Challenges – Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by to visit my Amusing Challenges!  This week is super easy – anything goes!!  Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing for one lucky Grand Prize winner.  May’s winner will receive this A Muse Studio stamp set, Hero Mail.  It’s perfect if you are a military family (like myself), participate in Operation Write Home or think of the possiblities for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July…It’s retired now so you won’t be able to get it anywhere else!

Here in the states we are celebrating Memorial Day this weekend.  Cyndi just picked up this set, Let Freedom Ring, while it was on sale during A Muse Studio’s Retirement sale. (There are a lot of great A Muse Studio stamp sets retiring and they are on a Progressive Sale format) She didn’t waste any time putting it to good use! Cyndi actually fussy cut the stars and embossed with white on Navy cardstock (also from Amuse Studio).

I created this card for my Birthday card workshop that is coming up this week.  It’s totally CASEd from another A Muse Studio demo, Lori Barnett.  I used the set, Hey Cupcake for the images and sentiments.  In fact, that is only 2 out of three of the lines – I masked the last sentance with washi tape before inking it up.  Then, I cleaned the stamp very (very!) well and inked up the last sentiment for the inside of the card.   There is also some heavy duty masking going on!  I stamped the cherry – masked it – stamped the frosting – masked it – and then stamped the cupcake portion.  Next I stamped the cupcake wrapper once more on a scrap of white and colored it in with Copic markers.  I over stamped the wrapper with Mod Backgrounds 1 in Berry ink – both are from A Muse Studio.  After I finished coloring the cupcake with my Copic markers, I doodled a thin black line around the edges with my .5 mm Copic Multiliner pen (available from A Muse Studio).  On the base of the card I stamped in the Berry ink the Darling Dots Background  – which also happens to be on A Muse Studio’s retiring list so it’s on sale this month for 35% off!
