I’m not sure if you celebrate Halloween or not but I hope you will join us for this week’s Amusing Challenge! It is a Halloween theme but that can be open to interpretation. 🙂 Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing for one lucky Grand Prize winner. October’s Grand Prize winner will receive a package of medium Polka Dot Bags in their choice of color.
Cyndi pulled out her detail cutting scissors and went to work! I love this card and how she cut apart some of the images from the new A Muse Studio Halloween Newspaper Background set. Well, she cut a lot more than just those, she also cut the pumpkin, bottle and kettle from Peculiar Potions, also from amuse studio. Cyndi added some color to her images with Copic markers and after she stamped the spider web and spider from A Muse Studio’s Wicked Web on the background, she sponged in color and splattered some more over it before layering everything on top. The green bubbles (love these!) are glitter glue. I just love looking at all of the wonderful details!
I used both of these A Muse Studio sets, Peculiar Potions and Halloween Newspaper Background too for my card! I started with some Orange amuse studio cardstock and stamped the background at a diagonal in Habanero ink – one of A Muse Studio’s new Fiesta ink colors. I also brushed some gesso on the right side and then stamped the dots from Polka Dot Patterns in Lime ink – both are from A Muse Studio. The last step on the background was to splatter some Slate splash, after covering the lime dots to protect them from the splatters.
I stamped my pumpkins on Sugar cardstock and then watercolors them randomly with Lime, Payaya and Orange Splash. Once they were dry I cut them out and glued them along a piece of Lime lace that I picked up at the Scrapbook Expo this year…a huge roll for just $4, score! The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment from Peculiar Potions and then cut it carefully into thin strips – I attached them with Aqua Mono glue. Isn’t it a fun card?
Here’s a peek at a Halloween tag I made and I will be sharing the tutorial during the week as part of my 12 Days of Halloween series…it’s free and you can sign up for it in the upper left sidebar!
