Wow! It is already the end of the month so that means this week’s Amusing Challenge is anything goes. Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing for one lucky Grand Prize winner. January’s Prize Winner will receive 5 assorted die cuts of the Berry Box die that is part of February’s Special Collection.
Tricia (of 1PhatChic) sent me the most incredible card this week – it’s a tri-fold card if you look closely. I know the photo doesn’t do it justice but you can click to enlarge all the photos and you’ll see too how incredible it is!
Tricia used Starry Night Background and C’est La Vie from the current A Muse Studio catalog on Navy cardstock. They are beautifully embossed in White amuse studio embossing powder and she finished it off with the little bow tie from their Cherry Baker’s Cording. Isn’t that a great detail? If you look closely you can see where Tricia cut around the city scene. I thought she had just layered it on top until I saw the next photo!
Tricia stamped a sentiment on the inside of the card from, Love Me Do – a retired A Muse Studio stamp set. The rounded two corners (top left/bottom right) are another great touch. Here you can see the details of her three panels that fold up into a glorious scene!
My card this week began as an oval card challenge and over the summer I had stamped some flowers in this bicycle basket from the A Muse Studio set, Enjoy the Ride. With Valentine’s Day coming up and having just had a Love is in the Air card class…well, I had hearts in my mind! I love the way A Muse Studio inks layer…you can faintly see the colors of the stamped flowers from amuse studio’s Mini Blooms (I didn’t bother to mask but allowed them to overlap). This little heart is just one of many hearts in the new A Muse Studio set, With Love – it’s part of their January Collection and will only be available through the end of the month!
I used one of the Word Window dies from A Muse Studio to cut through my layer of Wasabi Petite Polka dot cardstock (the others are sky, sugar and onyx) and then I stamped my sentiment inside. I added a few pearls to pull the eye down and a touch of slate stitched ribbon – they are also both from amuse studio.
Yay! For once I did a little stamping on the inside of the card and I love it!
PS. Don’t forget that you can still play along with the current Amusing Challenge going on until midnight, Sunday night. It’s a “hearts” theme and you can enter it here!
