This week’s theme and monthly prize
Hello and welcome spring!! woohoo…although unfortunately we’ve taken a turn for colder weather here in Northern VA, just outside of Washington DC. This week’s Amusing Challenge will be Easter. I know not everyone will be celebrating this holiday – if you don’t, you can play along with a spring card. Speaking of spring, did you see my post for the Spring Coffee Lover’s Blog hop?!?
Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. Based on reader input late last year, I will be changing up the way I award my monthly prize! We’ll still have the Top 3 winners but now every participant that plays along will earn a chance to win the random drawing for my prize package at the end of the month. This month’s prize is an assortment of Amuse Studio’s “Not Your Grandma’s” buttons!
Design Team Inspiration
Do cards ever make you squeal with delight?! Cyndi’s handmade cards do that to me ALL the time. Just look what she managed to create with Amuse Studio’s Basket Case and Gnome Other stamp set. What a non traditional Easter card and yet it’s perfect and delightful in every way! I love that basket of tiny eggs…and her sponged sky is perfection.
amuse studio supplies: Gnome Other stamp set (February Collection – but still available while supplies last!), Basket Case stamp set, Springtime Day (retired) stamp set, grass die, Wasabi organdy ribbon, Lime cardstock, Rainbow sequins, Bunny bums
I fell in love with the Spring Scene stamp set after seeing a card sample in the Amuse Studio catalog. I basically CASED that card here, except I substituted Lemon Whip cardstock for their white panel. I love the tiny flowers and the variety of stems that come in this set. Even though I already own Mini Blooms and Love and Thanks, this set compliments those rubber stamp sets and make an incredible background as you see here.
amuse studio supplies: Spring Scene stamp set, Lemon Whip and Sugar cardstock, Stitched Circle dies, Toffee Twine, Margarita, Hibiscus, Marigold, and Grass ink
This next card is another CASE of a card Kristine V (a fellow amuse studio consultant) made last year. I was looking for ideas for a quick and CAS Easter card for my Spring Card Class last week and this idea was perfect! It’s another great layout for using up scraps! Just like Cyndi’s card, it features these cute little bunny bums that Amuse Studio carries. I love the way Amuse Studio’s cardstock and colors compliment each other so well. And, they have the cutest dies!
For my card I used the smaller bunny dies which fit perfectly within my 1 1/4″ squares. Die measurements: large standing bunny 1¾” tall, small standing bunny 1⅛” tall, large sitting bunny 1” tall, small sitting bunny ⅞” tall, egg ½” tall
amuse studio supplies: Essential Sentiments (retired) stamp set, Slate ink, Sky, Cocoa and Sugar cardstock, Bubblegum, Papaya, Wasabi and Mermaid Petite Polka dot cardstock, Bunny dies, Bunny bums
