This week’s theme and monthly prize
wow—already it’s the last day of the month of August! Yikes! And, it’s the last week of the month so that means it’s an Anything Goes Amusing Challenge!
Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. Based on reader input late last year, I will be changing up the way I award my monthly prize! We’ll still have the Top 3 winners but now every participant that plays along (and LINKS BACK to the challenge) will earn a chance to win the random drawing for my prize package at the end of the month. A random winner this month will win this retired Amuse Studio stamp set which is perfect for summertime…Sunshine and Shade.
PS. I’m finally up and running on Instagram if you’d like to follow me and keep up with my latest creations and more!
This Week’s Inspiration
I have made several versions of this simple, watercolored CAS card but this one has a new twist! It’s based on the cards I made with my class a few weeks back and came about when Sue B. said she would like to add some “splatters” to her card. I whipped out my Slate splash and had to make a few of my own cards after she finished up! So easy and now they can be finished with any sort of sentiment I need. Seashells Remind Us is part of Amuse Studio’s July Collection so today is the last day to guarantee getting it!
amuse studio supplies: Seashells Remind Us stamp set (July Collection), Archival ink, Blackberry, Lemon Whip and Slate Splash, Bristol cardstock
Here is another one layer card that was so quick and easy to make! It’s inspired by a Hero Arts card I saw online. I am super excited because the A Muse Studio stamp set, Be Yourself (it has a flamingo and lots of foliage) was one of the amuse studio Monthly Collections that previously sold out BUT now it made it into their new Stamps and Die catalog. Phew! This card is just gold embossed and then I painted the watercolor paper with Grapefruit splash – pulling out the color as I went down the card. The word happy is simply die cut and I am constantly amazed at how well these A Muse Studio dies cut.
amuse studio supplies: Be Yourself stamp set, Birthdays Inside and Out stamp set, Happy die set, gold embossing powder (other: coldpress watercolor paper)
This last card I CASEd from my good friend and Amuse Studio designer, Marisa A. I added the second catalogue die cut behind the flower panel and that is basically the only tweak I did! It’s such a great card design (and looks great with a lot of different images – check out this card) using Amuse Studio’s new stamp set, Tropical Blooms and I am super excited that amuse has added some more Tombow markers to their Accessories Catalog – this was watercolored using them.
amuse studio supplies: Tropical Blooms stamp set, OMG Cake stamp set, white embossing powder, Shell, Latte and Sugar cardstock, Catalogue tag die set, Tombow markers (other: coldpress watercolor paper, ribbon)
I hope you join us!
