heARTful stamping challenge – Birthdays!

This month’s theme and monthly prize

Happy Birthday + a stamp

Jul 9 – Jul 16

I don’t know about you, but I typically send a LOT of birthday cards.  So, how about a birthday theme at heARTful stamping challenge?  I hope you will like the design team’s rubber stamped cards and that they give you some card making ideas.  Normally throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  You can also see last week’s heARTful stamping challenge which goes until Sunday night, midnight, right here.

July’s prize winner will receive this Petite Perks stamp set from CTMH.  They are tiny – perfect for a tag or on a card.

This Week’s Inspiration

Juliet is back this week with more Swirly Seashells from CTMH.  I’m really sad to see this set retire Jul 31 – it looks amazing colored in like she did last week, or left very natural as in this card.  I love how she stamped tone on tone but over a patterned paper.  CTMH is also retiring Memo Fundamentals at the end of the month.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from CMTH’s new Seasonal Expressions 2 catty – it’s called Prickly Pear cardmaking set.

Cyndi is back this week with another great card she created with the new CTMH Workshops Your Way No Worries scrapbooking kit.  I love these kits because they always include paper, sequins and some ribbon.  Then, depending on your choice, you can get Complements or a stamp set. What a great card!  And, I love how Cyndi worked in some of the fun senitments from CTMH’s Some Kinda Wonderful set.  That’s from the first Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog but you can still get it while supplies last.

With school getting out for summer break, I was able to finally have some cardmaking workshops in my home again.  woohoo!  I created this card for my Fun Folds series and it features a dutch door styled card.  I have been having a LOT of fun with this little bear from CTMH’s new set called Jack – cardmaking stamp.  It has a lot of fun detail stamps.  I really have loved working with the Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack and am sad that CTMH is retiring that July 31.  Oh, and there is that great birthday sentiment again!

I created a template to create this picket fence.  I scored my template every inch and then cut a “v” at each scoreline to give me that jagged top.  It worked perfectly…  Isn’t it adorable when you open it up?!  I love the inside of the card.

Chris, your fenced bear card is absolutely darling! I like cards with unusual folds and your bear is so friendly! FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

  2. I have an entire roll of burlap I could be adding to cards – thanks for the idea on your lovely burlap Ocean card and the other two cards are just as lovely – like the scene look and layout with the chair and wood look – cute bear too! Nice job on these fabulous creations!
