This month’s theme and monthly prize
Anything Goes + a stamp
Sep 3 – Sep 10
Normally throughout the month I have held different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. But, depending on the challenge, I very often have less than 10 entries and those can include sometimes two links from one person. I don’t know if it’s just that life is too busy for many of us (I know it is for me – I normally don’t even have the chance to go back and visit each entry, despite my intent to do so! – and I know that can be disheartening because we all appreciate the comments!) all my free time goes to creating new content for this blog, especially now that I am working full time. I plan to see how a weekly Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge goes. There will still be weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing. This month’s prize winner will be announced on Monday, Sep 4, and they will receive this package of CTMH grey gems from me.
This Week’s Inspiration
Cyndi had a bad fall this week in her garage and hit her head hard and hurt her foot. Miraculously she still had the desire to make a card for this week’s challenge and we both had to giggle at her theme. Fall! Cyndi used the Jack cardmaking stamp set that is now retired and also CTMH’s No Worries paper pack. Just an FYI – this paper pack sold out before the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog retired so if you do end up wanting something for sure – order it before the last month!
supplies: Jack cardmaking stamp set (retired), No Worries paper pack (retired), No Worries sequins
I’m super excited about Close To My Heart’s National Stamp Month celebration taking place this month! These 2 and 3 step flowers are from a special release stamp set called From the Heart. I have more information about the stamp set and special card kit available here on yesterday’s blog post.
supplies: From the Heart stamp set, all inks are from CTMH, Thistle cardstock
This was a super quick card and even though it has a few layers of cardstock, I feel like it is CAS in nature. Years ago Mischelle Smith did a lot of watercoloring with masking fluid and I promptly went out and bought some. I had terrible results and stuck it aside…until today! I gave it another try and although it wasn’t perfect, I think I let the ink dry longer and had less smudging. It allowed me to stamp the word thankful and then overstamp with the feathers and watercolor them. Once I rubbed off the dried masking fluid, I used my gold shimmer brush marker to fill in the word “thank”. I am in LOVE with this new CTMH Stamp of the Month called Feel So Blessed. It has so many great words, sentiments and other “elements” – perfect for cardmaking and scrapbooking!
supplies: Feel So Blessed stamp set, Archival Black ink, new basic ink colors in grey and brown, watercolor brush, Black cardstock, Bamboo cardstock (retired), Gold shimmer brush; other: masking fluid
