I love traditional colors for my Christmas cards but there was something about the light blues in this paper that I felt needed to be highlighted. I think I’ve seen some blue toned cards on Pinterest perhaps, but it led me to stamp the stars in Glacier ink.
That’s one of the things I love about CTMH paper packs – well, that and the fabulous patterns! – CTMH gives you a range of “featured” colors that work with the papers. Makes life easy and I like that!
So now that I have rambled on, let me tell you about my card…I used the sentiment from CTMH’s Workshop Your Way (WYW) Joyful Tidings kit. This is a really neat stamp set with some border stamps for banners, some great star patterns, and these tiny stars. Oh, the two sentiments are great too and I love that they have one “open font” type of word that is perfect for adding a touch of color or using a Gold or Silver shimmer brush (think Wink of Stella!).
These kits include a sampler of papers, white cards and envelopes, and normally some sparkle in the form of gems, twine and in this case, Silver and Gold foiled papers. Here is just part of the WYW Joyful Tidings kit:
The papers I used for my card are from CTMH’s Beary Christmas paper pack. I can mix and match all the double sided sheets – even the zip strip at the top of the sheets is perfect. That’s the little strip of lights. I was channeling my good friend Angela Kelley with that stack of circle dies. She does that a lot too and uses the scallop sometimes as the first layer – just to be different!
There are some great deals in the clearance section and the FUNdamentals sale has been a big hit … some items are sold out so don’t delay if there was something you needed or want to try! 🙂
