CTMH Chelsea Gardens CAS Card Design

CTMH Chelsea Gardens cardmaking stamp set and paper pack | CAS card design

Today was a snow day here – not resulting in a day off from school but a two hour delay! I was happy to enjoy breakfast with my visiting Sister-In-Law and had a leisurely start to the day. There’s lot of white on this card which reminds me of the snow but the butterfly and soft green makes me thing of spring! sigh…

I really love how this card turned out but it’s so easy to make a pretty card using CTMH’s new stamp set and paper line called:  Chelsea Gardens.  I would say the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog is a winner and out that, this is my favorite!  Honestly, I think a lot of folks like it and I am a little bit worried that it may eventually run out so if you like it, order it soon!

Linen stamped flowers make a pretty backdrop to my thanks sentiment. Don’t like to fussy cut? Great news! This set has a matching thincut die. woohoo! Life is good.

CTMH Chelsea Gardens & Mother’s Garden

CTMH Chelsea Gardens and Mother's Garden | springtime card | thinking of you | watercolor

We had an arctic freeze come over us here in the Northeast this past weekend and to get out of my “funk”, I pulled out some of my new CTMH stamps and papers.  Oh man…that did the trick and helped my morale!  I am totally in love with these new Chelsea Gardens papers in Close To My Heart’s new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog.  There is a matching stamp set called Chelsea Gardens for cardmaking that I used here, and, I also used the sweet rain boots from their new stamp set:  Mother’s Garden.  These images were so easy to watercolor and although I fussy cut my images – there are thin cut dies that match BOTH of these stamp sets.  Ah, the color palette of this paper is so wonderful – every time I look at this card, I DO have Happy Thoughts!

CTMH Stargazer

CTMH Stargazer | emboss resist technique | boy card

Before Christmas a few of my Kindergartners gave me some gifts and I was so excited to work on personalized thank you notes for them. CTMH’s new stamp set called Stargazer was perfect for the little boy cards. I colored the different astronauts hair color to match each recipient. It was so fun (and so easy!!).

If you’ve been here before, you will know that one of my favorite techniques is the emboss resist technique.  This little background panel was a breeze to stamp with the various sky pieces included in the Stargazer stamp set.  I just white embossed them on some watercolor paper and then quickly brushed some Navy Splash I had leftover from my amuse|studio days.  Once the paper dried, I quickly buffed the white embossed images and that really made them pop.

I’m not so keen on my spiky circle at the bottom of the card.  I had envisioned it looking a little better but I had thought that might be a fun way to highlight the sentiment.  I’ll have to go back to the drawing board for that one but in the meantime, my thank you notes are done.  woohoo!

Stargazer is just one of the great new stamp sets available in CTMH’s Seasonal Expressions 1 catty.  There is a matching Stargazer paper pack that is “out of this world” – ha ha!  Get it?!  Yeah, weak, I know!

CTMH Beary Christmas & Boxing Sales

CTMH Beary Christmas and Merriest Wishes WYW | mini Christmas cards

I made these cute little cards for my niece and nephew – they were perfect for tucking a folded check into the inside. The little animals and the “HO” come from CTMH’s Beary Christmas scrapbooking stamp set.   I love being able to carefully cut apart my Close To My Heart stamps to achieve certain looks.  Check out my tag here and you’ll see what I’m talking about!  The trees, star and snowflakes are from the stamp set included in CTMH’s Merriest Wishes Workshop Your Way kit.  This was my last purchase from CTMH’s Holiday Expressions catalog (which retires Dec 31st!!) and I’ve used it so many times…it’s tied as my favorite set! tee hee…funny how that works sometimes.

This Week’s Inspiration

I’ve been having a great time working through all of the cute and fun images and sentiments in CTMH’s December Stamp of the Month called A Little Bit of Pun.  I mean who can resist s’mores?  I love how this card turned out and it was so easy.  I used to really struggle mixing papers and patterns but find I can do it easily with CTMH’s paper packs.  Phew!  Check out some of my other cute punny cards here.

I have been stamping and holding card workshops for a long, long time now.  That means I have accumulated quiet a few card kits that were leftover from various events.  I found these pretty papers from my amuse studio days and finished them off with some gold embossing.  I think the ornaments and sentiments from CTMH’s Silver and Gold cardmaking stamp set look very elegant here.  I really love the mix of fonts in the sentiments included in this stamp set.  I die cut a brown paper bag in the large scallop border since it’s easy to scrunch and manipulate.

The other day I posted this question in my Stamped Blessings VIP facebook page…Do you make your own Christmas tags or do you buy them?  Or do you do both?!  I do both…but I do admit, I recycle and reuse my best homemade ones.  tee hee.  This year I had a blast making a whole bunch of new tags with CTMH’s it’s The Thought That Counts stamp set.  This set coordinates perfectly with their thin cut tag die set.  There are 10 great (kinda snarky!) sentiments and a few tiny images that help fill things in and make each tag unique.  So fun!
