CTMH Dreamin’ Big

Close To My Heart

Finally!  Last week I had promised to show peeks all week from my last cardmaking event.  I did show a cute card using CTMH’s Stamp of the Month (STOM) Easter Bunny here – but then I got caught up in other posts!  Sorry!

Here was one of everyone’s favorite cards (although they were all pretty well received!) using Dreamin’ Big Thin Cuts set (that’s a stamp set and matching die bundled together for a really great price).  It was super easy to coordinate my butterflies with the matching Dreamin’ Big paper pack.

What rubber stamping supplies do I need to make this card?

I know most people appreciate when I can share a card that uses just one stamp set.  This is a perfect example of a CAS card with a few extra details to make it pop.  Like a small strip of White Glitter paper but you could easily use CTMH’s White Shimmer trim that is adhesive backed.

CAS Thank You Notes

I had to make some quick thank you notes for a few of my Kindergartners after Valentine’s Day.  They sang us the cutest song in Music that brought tears to my eyes and a couple of children brought in some gifts that I really had to say an extra “thank you” for.

I had fun grabbing some of my old sets from The Angel Company and amuse studio – I did use my new CTMH watercolor paint set for the heart balloons.

Don’t forget to play along with my heARTful stamping challenge this week – it’s all about LOVE!

heARTful stamping challenge – for a special someone

For a Special Someone + a rubber stamp

Feb 5 – Feb 12

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is to show us a papercrafting project for someone special…but please be sure to use rubber stamps in your project!  You can find last week’s challenge here.

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I will announce January’s prize winner tomorrow.

This Week’s Inspiration

I didn’t really buy any CTMH stamps that were specifically for Valentine’s Day but I feel like I was still able to pull together these two stamps:  Charming Cascades and Some Kinda Wonderful (stamp/die bundle) to make the perfect Valentine.  I used Copic markers on the fox and left the brushstrokes showing to simulate fur.  I suppose it looks wierd in the photo but in real life, it’s okay!

I almost called this week’s challenge “10 minute cards or less”.  I suppose it shows but as I was fooling around with different looks for this card – I just felt that this worked.  I used a square punch to make the perfect fishtail cut…have you seen that trick before?  It takes the guess work out of cutting!

heARTful stamping challenge – Anything Goes

Anything Goes + a rubber stamp

Jan 29 – Feb 5

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is everyone’s favorite – Anything Goes…but please be sure to use rubber stamps in your project!  You can find last week’s challenge here.

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I figure with Valentine’s Day coming up soon (yeah, yeah…I know – don’t rush ahead!) this would be a fun Washi tape to add to your collection.  It’s called Everyday Life from Close To My Heart.

This Week’s Inspiration

This is for Muse Challenge #200…I love sketches or “case” this card type challenges.  They don’t tend to go over well when I do them as a theme here so I like to play along in others.  For this card I used my brand new CTMH clear rubber stamp set called Shower Flowers.  It just got dropped off this morning – woohoo!!  All of these foliage images (this is only half) come in the set and I combined it with a sentiment from my CMTH Cricut Flower Market digital cartridge/3 clear stamp sets/paper bundle.  Those sentiments are wonderful and I keep grabbing for them.  I was also tickled to dig around my older Spellbinder dies and give them some new life again – that’s always a good feeling.

I couldn’t wait to try out the watercolors from CTMH – they are a total upgrade to the little pots of paints I used to use as a kid!  Aren’t they pretty?!

I stamped a few various images from CTMH’s Good Thymes set – I really love using clear rubber stamps.  I purposely went out of the lines of these herb images (I felt I had to mention that – tee hee).  Isn’t the font great too?  This is a super fast CAS card.

heARTful stamping challenge – embossing

heartfulheader1

This week’s theme and monthly prize

Last weekend I was a bit lazy and got my blog post up later than I had hoped – so it didn’t make the Paper Playful posting.  Yikes!  Today I am back on track – despite having my Open House tomorrow.  If you want, you can still enter last week’s challenge since it won’t close until tonight at midnight!  You can find it here.

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is a embossing (the hot kind!).

I just love that little speech bubble from CTMH’s new set called Some Kinda Wonderful in their newest Seasonal Expressions catalog.  I thought the heart would look cute inside of it and see that little sentiment banner that reads “dream big”?  That is from the tiny stripe on top of the Some Kinda Wonderful CTMH 12 x 12 big circle paper that I used here.  Each of their designer papers has a different type of strip that you can cut of and it coordinates with that particular paper series.  I love it!  If my turtle looks familiar, I’ll confess he was a left over from a batch of thank you cards I made here.

The second card I am sharing today is based off of Muse Challenge #198.  It’s a little different from a true sketch challenge but the idea is similar.  I had this card idea in my head all week and finally had a chance to make it!   It feels good to be going back into my drawers of  paper and start using up some things like this Navy DCWV. The stars are from CTMH’s Charming Cascades stamp set and the sentiment is from one of the Close To My Heart’s Straight to the Top incentives that I earned.

CTMH

It’s definitely a super CAS card but I love the gold embossing!
