Guest Blogger over at Coffee and Cards with Deb and Celeste!

CTMH Silver and Gold cardmaking stamp set | CAS Christmas Card

I was super excited when my online friend Debra asked me to be a guest blogger on her once a month event called, Coffee and a Card with Debra and Celeste on her blog, Meticulosity. I’m not sure how Debra and I first met – it may have been over on the Coffee Lover’s facebook group since we both share a LOVE for coffee. On the other hand, it may have been when I was with amuse|studio and they had their Stamp Out Breast Cancer campaign. Debra is a survivor of Thyroid cancer and is amazingly generous!  This month she is featuring CTMH Stronger Together stamp set which they have released as a way to raise funds for the Red Cross.

As guest blogger I was allowed to pick a “theme” and I found this lovely mood board.  Celeste said she has a hard time with color challenges but remember you can also go with the mood or elements in the photo.  That’s what I love about these types of inspiration pieces!  And, oh by the way, Celeste created a beautiful card using these colors so she really was unnecessarily tough on herself but I find we are our worst critics!  She is blogging over at Crafting Junky so be sure to check out her post as well.

Even though I typically don’t go bonkers for Christmas too early, I am in the midst of planning my Christmas card workshop for Nov 6 and 7 so that has given me some tunnel vision!  I went with the 3 focal colors of the mailboxes as my inspiration but I also feel like I brought in the texture of the gray wall with my panel on the bottom of the card.  My “green” is not quite the exact shade but I hope you don’t mind!

I am, I find, a CAS cardmaker but I really love being able to add some tiny details that make a card extra special. The tiny stars are from CTMH‘s The Thought That Counts – a fun and sassy tag set.  The sentiment and ornaments are from CTMH’s Silver and Gold cardmaking stamp set.  Inks and paper are also from Close To My Heart.

I love a good cup of coffee (and some treats!  It’s Ginger Snap season again  – yay!!) while I craft.  How about you?  I’ve been enjoying some Almond Milk creamer these days, so yummy!  I love this coffee mug – it’s beautiful and is part of a set of four:  one orange, one yellow, one blue and this green one.  Happiness is a pretty cup of GOOD coffee!  Speaking of good coffee, I may be in the market for a new coffee maker soon.  Mine has been acting up!

Thanks again Deb and Celeste for inviting me to join your fun tradition of a Card and Coffee!  I’m honored and it’s been a lot of fun!

CTMH Punny Pals and Beary Christmas

CTMH Punny Pals meets Beary Christmas - stamplifted this adorable design from Gail!

I absolutely fell in love with this card when I saw Gail Gross first shared it last week. I often tweak a card to make it my own, but not this time! It’s so cute how she used the santa hat from CTMH’s Beary Christmas for scrapbooking stamp set. It fits perfectly on all the little critters in CTMH’s Operation Smile set – Punny Pals.

The most exciting part is this month we’re celebrating Share a Smile and CTMH is matching all funds raised for Operation Smile through the sale of Punny Pals. PLUS, they are offering a matching die set for those of you who like to skip the fussy cutting! tee hee…

CTMH All The Thanks

CTMH All the Thanks, Leaves embossing folder | CAS card
One of my favorite things about fall (other than the good sleeping temps!) is the colors it brings. The new CTMH Falling for You paper pack has packaged up all of those beautiful, rustic colors into one bundle.  The only hard part is deciding which side of the paper to use!  For this card I used the new Leaves embossing folder – which is also in the Close To My Heart Holiday Expressions catalog.  Its a new favorite!  All the Thanks is a great set of 4 sentiments that are perfect for your thank you notes.

For my card I used a retired CTMH set of leaves but the new Falling for You cardmaking stamp set is pretty amazing and looks gorgeous colored in. It would work well with this technique I’m about to share. This technique perfect for when you don’t have a lot of time to color.

I simply pressed a section of White Daisy cardstock into my ink color and then overstamped that crosshatch of color with the leaf stamp. You can fussy cut your leaf or use the thincut die set. CTMH now offers many of its stamps with matching thin cut dies – woohoo!

CTMH Halloween plus Christmas equals…

CTMH Banner Love, Happy Heart, Cats & Bats paper and Silver Foil paper | 25th Anniversary card

What do you get when you pair Halloween paper (Cats and Bats) with Silver Foil paper from CTMH’s Holiday Expression catalog? A gorgeous 25th wedding anniversary card, of course! 🙂 Yesterday my husband and I celebrated this great milestone – with sushi take out.

I used the sentiment from CTMH’s Banner Love and the hearts in the new Color of the Year (Bashful) are from Happy Heart – both in the main catalog. I first stamped the sentiment in black and just didn’t like it…I like the look of this banner in Pewter ink – it’s more pleasing to the eye!

If you haven’t checked out the Holiday Expressions catalog, it’s  a must see!  There is also a gold foil paper as well, but I’m in love with all of the stamp sets and new patterned paper packs!

This month’s theme and monthly prize

Anything Goes + a stamp

Oct 1 – Oct 8

Last weekend it felt like you could still go swimming and this weekend it definitely feels like fall!  Wondering what your temperatures are like and are you ready for the switch of seasons?

Thanks for checking out this week’s Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  September’s prize winner will be announced on Monday and they will receive this petite stamp set from CTMH called You Amaze Me.

The natural disasters have continued to worsen and I received an email this week that the Red Cross was also helping in Puerto Rico.  Did you know that CTMH has released a special stamp set, Stronger Together, in an effort to help raise money  – check it out here.  All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross.

This Week’s Inspiration

Debi, from That Might Look Good on a Card, is getting a head start on her Christmas cards.  She featured the cute new stamp set from CTMH’s Holiday Expression called Little Saint Nick.  I love that strip of Red Glitter cardstock that CTMH also carries – it really adds some pop!

I had stamped most of this panel of flowers before I noticed a stray ink mark or two (okay, more than that!).  But, I couldn’t throw it away and just kept going.  The sponging on the bottom helps and I love the Scalloped Thincut dies that CTMH released in their Annual Inspirations catalog.  There is this one and an opened scallop – it’s the perfect size!

I was in a CAS mood this weekend and I quickly whipped this card together.  It was so easy to watercolor – the Tombow markers made it even easier since I could apply the ink to the tiny images and then add some water.  I am so grateful for all my blog readers.  Huge thanks!
