Happy 4th and July CTMH Specials

Handmade 4th of July card | Celebrate with CTMH's Jack cardmaking stamp and die | watercolors

Happy 4th of July to my US readers!

This doesn’t happen often but I woke up this morning with this card idea in my head…and I couldn’t wait to get up and get crafting!  I love this little guy from CTMH’s Jack cardmaking stamp set.  His (or her!) arms are separate pieces so you can really stamp them in many different positions.  I knew they would be perfect for these sparklers from a|s.  I also had the Celebrate cut out and couldn’t help but showcase that too!  This thin cut die (and quite a few others) retire this month…but the good news is that the NEW CTMH catalog will be enroute to me shortly!

CTMH Some Kinda Wonderful Paper is So Feminine!

Close To My Heart, Some Kinda Wonderful birthday card, cake and flowers, CTMH

I had so much fun making this Clean and Simple (CAS) birthday card for my niece.  I found a few bits of Some Kinda Wonderful paper scraps leftover and was reminded how this CTMH paper was perfect for both masculine AND feminine cards.  The “celebrate” is also a CTMH stamp set and it’s from my Straight to the Top rewards that I earned as a Close To My Heart consultant.  If you are interested in finding out what perks we enjoy – be sure to ask me!  I’d love to have you on my team.  đź™‚

What rubber stamping supplies do I need to make this card?

Check out your stash of paper scraps – I bet you have some pieces floating around that would work perfectly with this layout.  CTMH has the Some Kinda Wonderful paper packs in the Going Soon! section so that means it is only available while supplies last.  I also found that line images make for a great background and then you can use other things for a pop of color like the sequins and paper flowers that I inked up with CTMH’s Lemon colored ink.

Hello Foxy {CTMH Stamp of the Month} Happy Mail!

Hello Foxy CTMH Stamp of the Month, Close To My Heart, CAS card

I was so tickled to receive this happy mail from my Close To My Heart upline, Lisa Stenz.  I was attracted to her because I had been following her blog for years and loved her cardmaking style – and now I appreciate her even more for her kind and generous nature.  She sent this to me because I made my quotas early!  I am so thankful that my transition to CTMH has gone so well – I am loving the product, the company and the people!

Lisa used the flowers from CTMH’s Stamp of the Month called Hello Foxy.  It’s really a super cute stamp set (and yes, there are foxes involved!) and I started playing with mine this week.  I’m prepping for two big card classes coming up – my June 24th class is almost full but you can check my Meet Up here if you are local.  I’m also happy to mail card kits 🙂

I love that CTMH let’s you buy the Stamp of the Month set at full price – or you can really save BIG when you include it with a purchase.  I have an ongoing party and orders of $50 receive an extra little thank you from me!

CTMH Jack and Some Burlap Scraps

I can’t believe I almost missed sharing this card I made using CTMH‘s new Jack cardmaking stamp set!  I wanted to call my post “Scrappy Jack” — not to be mistaken with the “Sloppy Joe” song I used to sign as a kid (dare I say era 1970’s?!?).  This card was perfect for using up scraps – I pieced together 3 different scraps to make the colorful panel directly behind the bear.

This is one from my series of Jack cards when I had him out on my table and couldn’t stop stamping and creating with him.  Can you believe I created that blue flecked piece?  It looks like designer paper, I think.  I find the two sets of what I think of texture or patterns from the CTMH Flower Market Cricut bundle sets are amazing.  Did you see my emboss resist card here using one of those patterns?  The best part?  You can buy these bundles as a hostess half price item when you have a qualifying party…be sure to ask me how because CTMH makes it so easy to have a party with your friends:

  • in your home
  • my home
  • online or
  • a combination of all of the above!

What rubber stamping supplies do I need to make this card?

I did rummage around my scrap 12-drawer cart for some papers that would mix and match with my CTMH papers (Dreamin Big is the background mat for Jack but it’s retired now and no longer available).  I found some papers that I had from a|s and they went together perfectly.  The bear was so easy to stamp on kraft and just cut out but did you know that CTMH has a matching thin cut die for this set?  They do!

heARTful stamping challenge – coloring fun!

This month’s theme and monthly prize

Coloring Fun + a stamp

Jun 4 – Jun 11

Happy June!  Wow, time is flying by – almost time for school to be out but I know many places are already!  This week’s  heARTful stamping challenge is to have some coloring fun.  It’s your choice of medium…you’ll see the design team used a little of everything!

Normally throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  You can also see last week’s heARTful stamping challenge which goes until Sunday night, midnight, right here.

May’s winner will be announced on Monday and they will win this CTMH Hello Lovely Compliments pack.  These “stickers” are great for both cardmaking and scrapbooking!  The gold words, hearts and arrows in the lower left corner are raised so they really are quite lovely.

This Week’s Inspiration

I was so happy to spot this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch layout #224 because it made me immediately think of CTMH’s Swirly Seashells.  Then I came across a lovely blog that mentioned CAS Watercolour Challenge with the theme of “summer” and I knew these shells would be perfect embossed and watercolored.  I used some CTMH reinkers with my waterbrush and it was super fast and easy to get a pretty nice result!  By the way, Swirly Seashells are on CTMH’s retiring list so they won’t be available after the end of July.

supplies: Swirly Seashells stamp set, Live Beautifully zip strip from paper pack, watercolor paper, Gold embossing powder, Canary, Pomegranate, Thistle and Goldrush reinkers, fine and medium tip waterbrush

Cyndi blew me away with her two entries this week!  They are perfect for kids of any age – and those that are “young at heart!”  tee hee…  I absolutely love the way Cyndi took CTMH’s Way To Go stamp set with it’s fabulous borders and banners and turned one of them into a “tight rope”.  It’s brilliant!  This little hippo from CTMH’s Safari Ballet really makes me giggle too.  Sadly both of these stamp sets are part of CTMH’s retirement list so you won’t see them after the end of July.

supplies: Way To Go stamp set, Safari Ballet stamp set – while supplies last

For Cyndi’s next card she use the bold sentiment from CTMH’s Dreamin’ Big paper pack.  These packets include 5 sheets of double sided 12 x 12 paper and then one sheet of  journaling cards and accents that are perfect for both scrapbooking and cardmaking.  Love the pop of the red against the black border.  It’s a fun idea to stamp over patterned paper and then color this little bird with colored pencils.

supplies: Some Kinda Wonderful stamp set (while supplies last), Dreamin Big paper pack – retired

I hope you join us!

It’s simple to play along:

  • 2 entry limit
