CTMH Beary Christmas & Boxing Sales

CTMH Beary Christmas and Merriest Wishes WYW | mini Christmas cards

I made these cute little cards for my niece and nephew – they were perfect for tucking a folded check into the inside. The little animals and the “HO” come from CTMH’s Beary Christmas scrapbooking stamp set.   I love being able to carefully cut apart my Close To My Heart stamps to achieve certain looks.  Check out my tag here and you’ll see what I’m talking about!  The trees, star and snowflakes are from the stamp set included in CTMH’s Merriest Wishes Workshop Your Way kit.  This was my last purchase from CTMH’s Holiday Expressions catalog (which retires Dec 31st!!) and I’ve used it so many times…it’s tied as my favorite set! tee hee…funny how that works sometimes.

Don’t forget that CTMH’s Boxing Sale is continuing today with NEW specials!

The fun started at 12:00 am (MST) on Tuesday, December 26, and runs through 11:59 pm (MST) on Friday, December 29. Handmade Christmas Tags

CTMH Merriest Wishes and Joyful Tidings | handmade DIY Christmas tags
So are you ready for Christmas? Everything wrapped and under the tree? I made quite a few handmade Christmas tags this year. Some were fancy and others were just quick and easy. Here are a few ideas that I hope inspire you if you are in the last minute process of wrapping! Some of these tags would look quite nice on a card front too.

CTMH Mistletoe Kisses sentiment - only $2.95 | handmade Christmas tags | vellum overlay
A touch of gold embossing and a strip (really from a scrap – I just find it hard to throw away pretty papers) of CTMH’s Gold Sparkle paper – it’s a quick and easy elegant look.

CTMH Beary Christmas scrapbooking - took Oh What Fun sentiment and turned it into HO HO HO | handmade Christmas tags

This last tag makes me really excited. Why? Because I cut apart the “OH WHAT FUN!” sentiment from CTMH’s Beary Christmas scrapbooking stamp set and flipped it around to read: “HO” like as in HO HO HO!  Isn’t it wonderful?  This tag really makes me smile – I love this set and the white embossing on the red tag takes it to a new level of cuteness.

CTMH Merriest Wishes

CTMH Merriest Wishes WYW kit | Christmas trees inspired by Garnet Hill catalog | non traditional Christmas card - handmade

I was flipping through the pages of the latest Garnet Hill catalog (sadly I only get the odd thing here and there and only when it’s super on sale!) when a door mat caught my eye. It immediately reminded me of my CTMH Workshop Your Way kit called Merriest Wishes. I put the catalog down and immediately began to pull inks aside that would be perfect – I was on a mission and it may be the fastest card I’ve ever started and finished to date!!

I was able to take a traditional looking stamp set (I love that these CTMH kits include some papers and other fun item – including two card sketches! – to get your started) and use some very non-traditional colors to really change things up!

Where do you tend to get most inspired? Normally it’s online for me but I love when something totally unusual gets me creating! Don’t forget that CTMH’s Holiday Expressions catalog retires at the end of the month – some things are already out of stock so don’t delay too long…

This Week’s Inspiration

My parents are visiting and my Mom needed a wedding card for next week.  I have some beautiful, flowery papers left over from CTMH’s Live Beautifully special release this summer – but I went with this gold foiled paper from the pack.  You can still find this paper pack and some other wonderful items you’ve seen in the past Seasonal Expressions in the GOING SOON section of my webstore.  I used the sentiments from CTMH’s Many Congratulations.  Their clear stamps allow me to curve the images the way I wanted and I love the results. I finished adding some “glitz” with Close To My Heart’s gold shimmer brush.

I think this card is the perfect Christmas card for pet lovers!  The two cute little critters are from CTMH’s Operation Smile stamp set called Punny Pals.  Last month CTMH released a matching thincut die set and it’s available while supplies last (in the GOING SOON section of my webstore).   The sentiment is from the Workshop Your Way (WYW) Joyful Tidings kit and the Buffalo Plaid embossing folder made a great background.    I punched the gold stars with a Martha Steward border punch from some Gold Foil paper.  All three of these items are from CTMH’s Holiday Expressions catalog.

CTMH Joyful Tidings – Workshop Your Way kit

CTMH WYW Joyful Tidings plus Beary Christmas paper pack
I love traditional colors for my Christmas cards but there was something about the light blues in this paper that I felt needed to be highlighted. I think I’ve seen some blue toned cards on Pinterest perhaps, but it led me to stamp the stars in Glacier ink.

That’s one of the things I love about CTMH paper packs – well, that and the fabulous patterns! – CTMH gives you a range of “featured” colors that work with the papers. Makes life easy and I like that!

So now that I have rambled on, let me tell you about my card…I used the sentiment from CTMH’s Workshop Your Way (WYW) Joyful Tidings kit.  This is a really neat stamp set with some border stamps for banners, some great star patterns, and these tiny stars.  Oh, the two sentiments are great too and I love that they have one “open font” type of word that is perfect for adding a touch of color or using a Gold or Silver shimmer brush (think Wink of Stella!).

These kits include a sampler of papers, white cards and envelopes, and normally some sparkle in the form of gems, twine and in this case, Silver and Gold foiled papers.  Here is just part of the WYW Joyful Tidings kit:

The papers I used for my card are from CTMH’s Beary Christmas paper pack.  I can mix and match all the double sided sheets – even the zip strip at the top of the sheets is perfect.  That’s the little strip of lights.  I was channeling my good friend Angela Kelley with that stack of circle dies.  She does that a lot too and uses the scallop sometimes as the first layer – just to be different!

There are some great deals in the clearance section and the FUNdamentals sale has been a big hit … some items are sold out so don’t delay if there was something you needed or want to try!  🙂
