CTMH Punny Pals Valentine

CTMH Punny Pals CAS Valentine

I’m so excited to be hosting a free Valentine card workshop in my home on Saturday – if you are local, have you RSVPd?! I am offering 7 different designs to work for the love of your life, your darling kiddos or just a dear friend. That meant I had to dive in and get inspired quickly. I was really inspired by Liz Ann Mullins, another CTMH consultant, and I ended up CASing her card with just a few tiny tweaks to use what I had. I love this card because I used CTMH’s Punny Pals set and that has a huge variety of cute critters! So, if you aren’t into piggies, that’s okay because there are a lot of other animals and fun puns to choose from.

The best part?! Punny Pals is CTMH’s Operation Smile stamp set and proceeds from the sale of each set is donated to help children all around the world.

heARTful stamping challenge – Anything Goes!

This month’s theme and monthly prize

Anything Goes + a stamp

Jan 28 –  Feb 4

Welcome to January’s last  week of Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge!  I just realized I had not posted this month’s prize yet – I’m sorry!  Believe me, it’s been a busy start to the year!

If this is your first visit here, there are normally weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.   Since you are stampers playing along with this challenge, I’m hoping January’s winner will love this CTMH stamp set called:  Created to Create.

This Week’s Inspiration

Debi from That Might Look Good on a Card, is back to “work” on my design team!  woo hoo.  I always love what Debi creates…she does a lot of fun fold cards and this is another great folding project.  Debi really put CTMH’s new paper pack, Chelsea Gardens, to good use!  The background paper looks amazing embossed and I love the pop of green in the vine die cut.  Gorgeous Debi!

It’s birthday month in my family!  Well, my dad and I both have our birthdays in January and one of my favorite stories growing up was that my Dad said if they didn’t have a child soon, he wanted to buy a Porsche.  I arrived 4 days before his birthday and ruined it for him.  tee hee.  Luckily he never held it against me – probably because we both LOVE cake! So this new stamp set from CTMH, Free Cake!, cracks me up and it’s perfect for birthday cards.  The Stargazer paper pack from CTMH also makes for a CAS but colorful masculine birthday card.

CTMH Chelsea Gardens and Basic Circle Tags

Heart be still…

Every once in a while I make a card that I have to sit back and just go “wow!”. This is happening to me quite often with the new CTMH Chelsea Gardens stamp set and paper line. Wow, wow, wow! I love this card!

I colored my butterfly from the Chelsea Gardens stamp set with Copic markers.  Do you spot that new CTMH die?  It’s called Basic Circle Tags and it’s a set of 4 different sized tags.  It’s perfect for gift giving, cardmaking and scrapbooking!  Another new LOVE…

I’m off to stamp with some friends coming over for today’s CTMH Chelsea Gardens spring card class.  I am going to show them 5 more great cards using this stamp set and papers.  The best part?  We’re using chalks, watercolor paints, watercolor pencils and copic markers to color.  And I baked!  Have a great weekend!

CTMH Free Cake!

CTMH Free Cake! | CAS card | handmade birthday card - masculine | watercolor pencils

I am late getting this card in the mail for my dad! Yikes. I always think I’ve got plenty of time but my parents live in rural Wisconsin and it takes more than the standard 3 days postal service to arrive!

So quickly, here are the details! I cut apart my cute new little ($2.95!!) stamp set from CTMH called Free Cake! Personally cake is always MY favorite part of any birthday so this stamp set really spoke to me – ha ha! Anyways, I randomly stamped the cake image with Archival black ink and colored them with CTMH watercolor pencils. I got better as I went because I learned to first color/wet the inside cake layers before going back and coloring/wetting the frosting part of the cake. By painting the two layers separately, they could dry a little and ran less. The sentiment in Free Cake! is so fun and I created a little banner at the top – it’s covering a puddle of brown I managed to get on the card. Yikes. I finished it all off with a splatter or two of Walnut Ink – I think those were the very first spray bottles of ink that ever came out…it’s been at least 10 years that I have them!  Free Cake! is in CTMH’s Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog – there is another really funny birthday stamp set in there if that’s your style.

Yesterday was my birthday (woot woot!) and I received two beautiful cards in the mail from friends.  Thank you Sue B and Erica F…I feel loved!!

heARTful stamping challenge winners!

Are you local?  I’m having a 5 card workshop this Friday (it’s a Teacher workday – woot woot!) and again on Feb 2 in the evening.  We’ll be using the Chelsea Gardens paper pack and stamp set/thincut die.  If you’d like to join us, or want a kit, please let me know!  It’s just $10 (plus shipping if you can’t make it here).  Send me an email or check out my MeetUp page and I’ll get right back to you.

On to last week’s heARTful stamping challenge winners, because that’s what you really are checking out today, right?!  {smiley face}
