This week’s theme and monthly prize

animals + a stamp

Mar 5 – Mar 12

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is to create something using your animal stamps – cute or realistic.  It’s all critters so bugs can count too!  You can find last week’s challenge here.

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I have been working on becoming more “organized” as I start my CTMH business (I’ve been stamping over 11 years now!) and I came across this new and uncut rubber cling set I have that is perfect for this month..  February’s random prize winner will receive this rubber stamp set … I will be announcing the winner tomorrow, Monday Mar 6!

This Week’s Inspiration

Cyndi’s card is guaranteed “tu-tu” make you smile!!  Corny, I know – but isn’t this card sweet?  Cyndi did some amazing coloring and then fussy cut out this adorable little giraffe and hippo from CTMH’s Safari Ballet.  That hippo looks like she has on purple lipstick.  And, I love the extra little pop of bling to make this card extra girlie.

The card I’m sharing with you is actually happy mail that I was lucky enough to receive from Mischelle Smith. I have known Mischelle for over 11 years through our love of stamping and the internet…I have an inspiration board that her work always goes when I’m lucky enough to receive one of her works of wonder! Don’t miss out on her whole series of CTMH’s Some Kinda Wonderful here on her blog, Mischellemakes. She has an incredible eye and you won’t be disappointed!  The best part? This month CTMH has all dies on sale for 25% off and that includes stamp/die bundles like this set!  And the heart die Mischelle used as well… Close To My Heart

heARTful stamping challenge winners!

close to my heart

I know that the card I shared yesterday for this week’s heARTful stamping challenge (it’s all about LOVE!) didn’t really show the gold embossed vellum from CTMH’s Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack.  So, I just wanted to share this better view!  Talk about love!!

And now to talk about our winners the previous heARTful stamping challenge that was to share something “for someone special”.  So many lovely entries – you all made it super hard to pick just 3!

This Week’s Inspiration

It’s been a busy week for me at school and I still want to make homemade Valentines for my Kindergartners this weekend – I need to make 25!  yikes.  That meant for this week’s challenge I needed some fast inspiration and I found it at CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #208.  When I saw the sketch and some of the design teams’ work – I had an idea to use Charming Cascades from CTMH.  I always love the emboss resist technique and it worked perfectly here.

Since I was in a rush to complete two cards for this week’s heARTful stamping challenge, I turned to a second Sketch Challenge I found at Freshly Made Sketches.  I took a little more liberty in this sketch layout and used a scrap of Gold Embossed vellum from CTMH’s Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack instead of two smaller, fishtail banners.  I love how this card turned out!  The colors are inspired by Becca Whitham, another CTMH consultant I recently stumbled upon.  I love that CTMH offers Cardmaking Kits that include papers, a stamp set and accessories, like this Here For You kit.

On a personal note, I’m super excited to share with you that I reached all three levels of CTMH’s Straight to the Top incentives for new consultants.  They have another great new sign up special and if you’d like to join me on this exciting crafting journey, be sure to email me with any questions you have.  I’d love to have you as part of my team!!

heARTful stamping challenge – Anything Goes

This week’s theme and monthly prize

Anything Goes + a rubber stamp

Jan 29 – Feb 5

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is everyone’s favorite – Anything Goes…but please be sure to use rubber stamps in your project!  You can find last week’s challenge here.

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I figure with Valentine’s Day coming up soon (yeah, yeah…I know – don’t rush ahead!) this would be a fun Washi tape to add to your collection.  It’s called Everyday Life from Close To My Heart.

This Week’s Inspiration

This is for Muse Challenge #200…I love sketches or “case” this card type challenges.  They don’t tend to go over well when I do them as a theme here so I like to play along in others.  For this card I used my brand new CTMH clear rubber stamp set called Shower Flowers.  It just got dropped off this morning – woohoo!!  All of these foliage images (this is only half) come in the set and I combined it with a sentiment from my CMTH Cricut Flower Market digital cartridge/3 clear stamp sets/paper bundle.  Those sentiments are wonderful and I keep grabbing for them.  I was also tickled to dig around my older Spellbinder dies and give them some new life again – that’s always a good feeling.

I couldn’t wait to try out the watercolors from CTMH – they are a total upgrade to the little pots of paints I used to use as a kid!  Aren’t they pretty?!

I stamped a few various images from CTMH’s Good Thymes set – I really love using clear rubber stamps.  I purposely went out of the lines of these herb images (I felt I had to mention that – tee hee).  Isn’t the font great too?  This is a super fast CAS card.

DESIGN TEAM SEARCH!!

Would you like to make just one a card a month to have featured on my heARTful stamping challenge?  It’s kinda fun to see it and you’ll have a link back to your own personal blog.  If you have CTMH stamps and are interested in doing a once a month “gig”, let me know!

I hope you join us!

heARTful stamping challenge – embossing

heartfulheader1

This week’s theme and monthly prize

Last weekend I was a bit lazy and got my blog post up later than I had hoped – so it didn’t make the Paper Playful posting.  Yikes!  Today I am back on track – despite having my Open House tomorrow.  If you want, you can still enter last week’s challenge since it won’t close until tonight at midnight!  You can find it here.

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is a embossing (the hot kind!).

I just love that little speech bubble from CTMH’s new set called Some Kinda Wonderful in their newest Seasonal Expressions catalog.  I thought the heart would look cute inside of it and see that little sentiment banner that reads “dream big”?  That is from the tiny stripe on top of the Some Kinda Wonderful CTMH 12 x 12 big circle paper that I used here.  Each of their designer papers has a different type of strip that you can cut of and it coordinates with that particular paper series.  I love it!  If my turtle looks familiar, I’ll confess he was a left over from a batch of thank you cards I made here.

The second card I am sharing today is based off of Muse Challenge #198.  It’s a little different from a true sketch challenge but the idea is similar.  I had this card idea in my head all week and finally had a chance to make it!   It feels good to be going back into my drawers of  paper and start using up some things like this Navy DCWV. The stars are from CTMH’s Charming Cascades stamp set and the sentiment is from one of the Close To My Heart’s Straight to the Top incentives that I earned.

It’s definitely a super CAS card but I love the gold embossing!
