Anything Goes + a stamp

Jan 7 –  14

Welcome to this week’s Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge – This begins our first full week in the new year!  Baby it’s cold outside!  Did you get hit by an arctic blast these past few days too?  I was home from school for two days and it gave me a chance to get some stamping done – loved it!

If this is your first visit here, there are normally weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.   I am celebrating my First Anniversary with Close To My Heart and thought it would be fun to have a special prize package.  I’ve dug around and found some really great items but then I realized with the new Seasonal Inspirations catalog going LIVE soon (and it’s really fantastic!), I decided to let the winner pick out something with their special $10 gift voucher from me!  Winner will be announced on Monday, Jan 8.

This Week’s Inspiration

Cyndi is back after a holiday break (and well deserved!).  I love this sweet Valentine themed card using CTMH’s Punny Pals stamp set.  Punny Pals is this year’s Operation Smile stamp set – it’s where Close To My Heart donates $7 for each stamp set sold.  It’s a great cause and a super cute stamp!

I’ve been trying to make a few extra birthday cards to have on hand and I was digging through some of my retired CTMH paper packs to start using up leftover scraps.  The sentiment is from CTMH’s Birthday Sparkles stamp set and I think this card turned out to be quite fun with the different colors and patterns.  Talk about quick and easy cardmaking!

Sometimes a card doesn’t quite turn out how you hoped.  It’s not “throw away” worthy (that happened to me in my last post here…not 100% happy with my card but there were parts I really liked so I couldn’t bear to throw it away.)  I hate the idea that the foliage would look really neat using the Rock n Roll technique and repeatedly stamped to fill in the entire background.  I think the colors are too different and thus didn’t blend as smoothly as I would’ve liked.  I do love the little pair of rain boots that comes in this CTMH stamp set – it’s called Mothers Garden and it’s in the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catty.

Happy New Year and challenge winners!

I want to wish you a very Happy New Year! My husband and I spent a quiet evening at home with a fire, a few movies and some sparkling wine at midnight…it was a nice way to welcome in 2018. I hope this year will be one of good health and blessings for you.

I also need to post my heARTful stamping challenge winners from my two-week “event” over Christmas. So many wonderful and wintery entries…I really had a hard time (once again!) narrowing it down to just 3!

But, here they are…

9. Lia
21. Steffi H
26. Linda McEnery

Congratulations to the winners and I hope you will grab your blog badge! Please come back for this week’s heARTful stamping challenge. I have finally listed the prize package which is a gift certificate. I think you will enjoy picking out your “winnings” from the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog that just went LIVE today! You can take a peek of it right here.

Anything Goes + a stamp

Dec 31 – Jan 7

Wow!  This is a special week as we usher out 2017 and welcome in the New Year.  Yikes, is all I can think and say!!

Welcome to this week’s Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge – it’s incredible that we’re finishing the year TODAY!

This Week’s Inspiration

Here’s a sneak peek at one of my favorite NEW stamp sets coming in CMTH’s Seasonal Expressions 1 catty.  It’s a great way to kick off 2018!  The stamp is called Chelsea Gardens (for cardmaking) and has the most wonderful paper packet to compliment it.  I love the new color combinations in this catty!

I’ve been having a great time working through all of the cute and fun images and sentiments in CTMH’s December Stamp of the Month called A Little Bit of Pun.  I’ve been making quite a few cards in between Christmas themed cards and tag papercrafts, but I realized (belatedly) that I had failed to mention that this set is also designed for Valentine’s Day!

CTMH A Little Bit of Pun watercolored valentines

These little CAS cards are so quick  – they are perfect for children and adults alike!  I watercolored a band of color in the extra spaces in the top cards – what an easy way to “fix” any gaps you may have.  The cards below were inspired by some cards created by LisaMarieCreates – a fellow CTMH consultant.  I love her heart doodled outlines!

This next batch of tags, still using CTMH’s Stamp of the Month, A Little Bit of Pun (available through Dec 31st only!) is combined with a new thin cut die coming out on 1 Jan!  I was inspired by CTMH consultant Chris Robertson’s work for these cuties and I think they will be adorable tied to various valentine treat bags.

Anything Goes + a stamp

Dec 17 – Dec 31

Welcome to the second week of our Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge.  That means you can enter a total of 4 during that two week period!  I’ve designed it this way to give my design team a little break and my family actually celebrates Christmas Eve so I know this is a busy time for everyone.  I do wish you a blessed and happy holiday.

If this is your first visit here, there are normally weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.   I am celebrating my First Anniversary with Close To My Heart and thought it would be fun to have a special prize package so I’m working on that now!  Stay tuned 🙂

This Week’s Inspiration

I’ve been having a great time working through all of the cute and fun images and sentiments in CTMH’s December Stamp of the Month called A Little Bit of Pun.  I mean who can resist s’mores?  I love how this card turned out and it was so easy.  I used to really struggle mixing papers and patterns but find I can do it easily with CTMH’s paper packs.  Phew!  Check out some of my other cute punny cards here.

I have been stamping and holding card workshops for a long, long time now.  That means I have accumulated quiet a few card kits that were leftover from various events.  I found these pretty papers from my amuse studio days and finished them off with some gold embossing.  I think the ornaments and sentiments from CTMH’s Silver and Gold cardmaking stamp set look very elegant here.  I really love the mix of fonts in the sentiments included in this stamp set.  I die cut a brown paper bag in the large scallop border since it’s easy to scrunch and manipulate.

The other day I posted this question in my Stamped Blessings VIP facebook page…Do you make your own Christmas tags or do you buy them?  Or do you do both?!  I do both…but I do admit, I recycle and reuse my best homemade ones.  tee hee.  This year I had a blast making a whole bunch of new tags with CTMH’s it’s The Thought That Counts stamp set.  This set coordinates perfectly with their thin cut tag die set.  There are 10 great (kinda snarky!) sentiments and a few tiny images that help fill things in and make each tag unique.  So fun!
