Amusing Challenges – pink, purple and blue!

Are you ready to celebrate the holidays?  It’s a busy time of year and we’ll be running this Amusing Challenge for two weeks to give my lovely design team a break – and for you to have a chance to play along!  :)   So, the winners will be announced on Monday, 31 Dec.

This week is a color theme at Amusing Challenge – pink, purple and blue.  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Juliet did an incredible job coloring this image from A Christmas Carol…love those blue and purple tones in the sky!

I made a really CAS card that is easy to mail; it could even be used as a thank you note!  The image and sentiment is from the set, Santa Claus is Coming to Town (on sale through TODAY), from a•muse studio.  I love the images – they remind me of my youth and watching Rudolph every Christmas (okay, I still do!).

Stamping on Twill

a muse studio

Excuse the funny tilt of this card – things seem crooked but it’s just the angle of the card, atleast the light was good this time!  :)

I stamped an image from A Christmas Carol by a•muse studio and had some fun coloring with my Copic markers.  To tone down the white though, I did some sponging with sky ink and then did the cracked glass technique.  My twill ribbon, also from a•muse studio (7/8 inch, vanilla), stamped beautifully with Palette ink.  I had intially wanted frayed ends but the music score is so long that I just had to snip off the edges…I still might go in and fray it a bit with my fingernail.  If you click on the card it will enlarge and you may see the stamped words in the background; it’s tone on tone though so its very subtle.

There are only 3 more days left for the 30% off Ho Ho Ho Holiday Sale!  Don’t miss out on a terrific selection of papers, ribbons and special stamps at a super price.  You can browse or shop right here, anytime!

Amusing Challenges – make your own flower

Welcome to this week’s Amusing Challenges.  Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.   This week it’s a chance to create your own flowers!   I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing.  This month’s prize is a 10 sheet package of assorted papers from a•muse studio!

I can’t wait to show you the design team’s creations!  Juliet is playing along with Tim Holtz’s 12 Tag of Christmas and she did an amazing job here incorporating Nordic Noel and Marvelous Marigolds from a•muse studio.

This is a different close up, at a different angle so that you can see the strip of music up the side (from A Christmas Carol) and the embossed snowflakes.

Cyndi used the Candy Box and Flower #2 dies from a•muse studio for her first project.  This Candy Cane paper is on sale by the way (and some other great holiday themed cardstock, ribbon and stamps!) and I love the dimension of her flower.  She used pop dots in between the layers of flower and curled the petals a bit before stacking them.

Her tag is wonderful.  I love that No Peeking sentiment from Holiday Tags – I think it’s a delightful, and a bit unexpected, combination with the red flower.

Will Juliet ever run out of clever Christmas card ideas?  I doubt it! Here she paired Nordic Noel and a retired stamp set from a•muse studio for this great, outdoor scene.

Cyndi used Spooky Boo Day which happens to be on sale this month for 10% off!  I love all the images she squeezed into this spooky little scene!

I couldn’t quite decide between a winter or summer theme – we’re caught between the two right now, weather-wise!  :)   This first card is a little in keeping with Breast Cancer Awareness – I think that pink kite floating upward is uplifting and hopeful!  {psst!  did you see that a•muse studio is giving away 10,000 rubber stamps?  Check out my sidebar to get the details and order one for yourself!}  Vintage amuse!

my second card uses A Christmas Carol – this is such a great scene for coloring!  I love that little jingle bell tied on with twine – all supplies from a•muse studio.

Amusing Challenges – markers

Welcome to this week’s Amusing Challenges! You must use markers for your coloring this week.  Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, etc. Each week I have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, I have a prize drawing from those winners. This August’s winner will receive 5 sheets of each of these two a•muse studio cardstocks. Good luck everyone, I’ll be pulling a name tomorrow. :)

Cyndi used alcohol markers and the Holiday Tags set from a•muse studio. I love that glitter sparkle and petite polka dot paper!!

Juliet used her favorite retired a•muse studio stamp and delighted me when she told me that she actually used the Copic markers to make that plaid piece of patterned paper.  I love this simple color scheme – it’s perfect!!

I also used copics for my card, A Christmas Carol, and all supplies are from a•muse studio as well.   The text cardstock is called, Twas the Night, and is perfect for the holiday!  I wish you could see the glitter I added to the snowflakes and randomly along the snow…it’s so pretty in real life!
