card supplies:

Come Fly with Me rubber stamp set, Dwell in Possibility (limited edition), Winter Sky and Blush Splash!, Valentine and Vintage Washi assortments, Versafine Onyx ink   –  all materials from A Muse Studio

Did you check out this week’s Amusing Challenge?  We’re featuring Splash!  A Muse Studio carries this spray (it has an opaque matte finish) in 15 colors… I wanted to try something new with it.  I’m still experimenting but I couldn’t wait to make a card with my first attempts.  I also used some of my new vintage washi tape and I love those photo corners – something I’ve had in my stash over 7 years now.  yikes!  I created this card with CASology’s cue word:  Travel – in mind.

I’m so excited for my Impromptu Launch Party {Open House} today!  If you live in the area, swing by between 1 and 3 pm…send me an email or give me a call!

A Muse Studio rubber stamps

The clean and simple challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches caught my eye – especially since those three focal items could be any shape!  I had so much fun coloring my butterfly last week from A Muse Studio’s Papillon set that I went for it again.  This time I used some different colored copics:  Y11, Y17 and B91, B45, B37.  Once I colored them I easily cut them out – antennas and all!  click to enlarge images…

Amusing Challenge – White Ink

Welcome to a new Amusing Challenge!  This week you have to use some white ink as part of your rubber stamped project.   Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing.   March’s prize is an A Muse Studio (Kindrid Spirits retired) rubber stamp set from me!

Juliet used the newly retired stamp set, Wild Rose, and tried a new technique for her (she’s a part of Technique Junkies for years so she loves trying new things).  I think her chalkboard card turned out great!

Wow!  I had a lot of fun choosing the colors for my copic colored butterfly (from the set, Papillon).  I wanted it to pop on this background and I also wanted it to look realistic.  I used the following Copic Markers:   Y17, YR15, YR18, YR86 and E13 and then gave the butterfly a light spritz of Stardust Finishing Spray.  My choice of white ink is Brilliance and I love how these solid and outline images from Floral Duet worked so well on the kraft background.  all supplies are from A Muse Studio except the white ink

Sketch #10

Juliet is a former air traffic controller and instantly loved the a•muse studio Come Fly With Me stamp set.  I love it too – and I really like the variety in her banner pieces; both color and size-wise.  Her blue sponging on the top really finishes it off nicely.  :)

Cyndi had another vision for the sketch…and that’s what I think is so fun about sketches…they give you a starting point for card ideas and you can just go from there!  She used the soon-to-be-retired set, On the Wing, and the harlequin embossing plate – both from a•muse studio.  PS.  That blueberry petite polka dot paper is also retiring – it’s all marked down on sale for 30% off thru Feb!

I had a lot of fun creating this card with scraps I had left over – what a satisfying feeling!  Here I used Enjoy the Ride, the banner die from Cupcake Companion set and some of the new blush baker’s twine from the a•muse studio Valentine catalog.  The venetian, gingham and several of the petite polka dot papers from a•muse studio are retiring on Feb 28…it’s a great time to stock up while they are on sale.  The best part of these papers is that they are the perfect size for card stamping.

Amusing Challenges – scissors

This week your challenge is to use scissors for Amusing Challenges.  Do some fussy cutting or use decorative scissors – let’s see that fancy work!  Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. This week we’re using glitter! I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing. This month’s prize is the swallows die set from a•muse studio!

Juliet belongs to a group that alters pieces and she used Come Fly with Me for her map challenge this week.

I used Love is in the Air from a•muse studio’s Valentine catalog and cut out the buildings after I stamped them on kraft.  I did a little sponging on my sun and then layered the scene over a Splash! sprayed background.
