Amusing Challenges – beer/rootbeer or wine in a pinch!

We’re thinking St Patrick’s Day with this fun theme over on Amusing Challenges.  Beer, green beer, rootbeer or…even some wine will do!  If this is your first visit,  throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing.   March’s prize is an A Muse Studio (Kindrid Spirits retired) rubber stamp set from me!

You have until midnight to play along with the white ink Amusing Challenge found here.  But now let’s check out what our design team came up with for this week’s challenge!

Juliet created her own pilsner beer mug – I love how she used the A Muse Studio cloud die for the foam!  She used Vintage Labels to make the patterned background – Juliet said they resembled beer labels but it reminds me of a tablecloth at a quaint little pub!  Her card measures a whopping 9 x 4 in.

Amusing Challenges

I used the retired A Muse Studio set, Hey Man!  I colored my beer mug with copic markers and then topped it off with some fun foam – that’s Le Pouf on top!  :)   I also used the seattle Chevron paper from A Muse Studio – we now carry this cardstock in 10 colors!

CAS Thursday

a muse studio

Yesterday was my 20 year anniversary! Wow, where has time flown? I was pressed for time and not feeling well – and I needed a card, quick! I looked in my stash of cards and found this. I made it over 6 months ago (minus the heart) and it just laid around because I wasn’t very happy with it. Suddenly, yesterday, I looked at it in a new light. I added that little red heart in the corner and wrote inside, “the next 20 years will be as exciting as the first 20!” – okay, I thought it was funny :)

psst!  Have you heard about our Breast Cancer Awareness promotion?  a•muse studio is giving away 10,000 free stamps and you can get yours here:   www.amusestudio.com/chris_franco     {it’s $3 to cover shipping costs and will take 6-8 weeks to arrive but it’s such wonderful thing they are doing.  Help me spread the word and tell your friends – even the non-stampers out there have a need for this!}

A brief note

It’s been a topsy turvy week for me with hopefully some end in sight. This is another card we made in my “Hey Man” card class. I love the simplicity but I think the blue gingham and pair of boxers adds a nice pop of color!

I used the one of the three tags from the Holiday Tag die sets from a•muse studio.  Speaking of which, did you check out my new Sunday feature?  It’s called Amusing Challenges and I hope you’ll check it out – you have all week to play along!

Ready for spring?

Hey Man stamp set by a•muse studioIt feels like it’s almost time to cut the grass again – and that’s not quite normal, even for the DC area, this time of year!  Here’s one of the cards we made this week at my “Hey Man” card class.  This is such a neat set from a•muse studio…6 great images and lots of funny sayings to go along with them.

I tend to be pretty “frugal” so often I make card fronts and attach them to a white card base.  In this case I was using up some leftover Bazzill cardstock I had from The Angel Company.  At the get together, Lois had a little boo-boo at the bottom of her card (I hope you don’t mind me sharing this Lois!!) and I suggested we trim the card down and let a white border show instead.  I liked her version so much better than my original!  So after everyone left, I trimmed my card down too.  It just shows you, there’s never a mistake in papercrafting and rubber stamping…just an opportunity!

Here are some of the supplies I used for this card.  I happened to have a grass border punch on hand but if you don’t have something like this, a•muse studio has a great grass die – much easier on the hand, believe me!
