heARTful stamping challenge winners!

Snow or no snow?!?  That’s all the talk today around here – I personally think all the wishful thinking has “jinxed” us but I’m being cautiously optimistic!  I have enjoyed the mild winter though, to be honest.  Sorry I’m just posting the winners now.  This morning I woke up late (time change to blame and my lingering sore throat – is it possible to have a sore for more than 7 days?  Yes it is – I’m living proof, sadly) and then I did honestly have to brave the grocery store because I needed dog food.  It cracks me up watching people coming out of the store before a forecasted storm.  Men carry a six pack of beer, women are loaded down with water, milk and bread.  tee hee….

Okay!  On to the winners.  Yikes there were so many cute (and realistic) critters entered into the heARTful stamping challenge last week – I loved all of these cards and it was quite difficult to narrow it down to just a Top 3.

Congratulations to the winners and I hope you’ll grab your blog badge!  Thank you for joining us this past week and I hope you’ll be back for this week’s Green heARTful stamping challenge.

heARTful stamping challenge – Green

This week’s theme and monthly prize

green + a stamp

Mar 12 – Mar 19

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is to create something with green…after all, Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here!  You can find last week’s challenge here – open through Sunday, midnight.

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I was able to pick up an extra February CTMH’s Stamp of the Month which I think is perfect for Easter – it’s called Easter Bunny

This Week’s Inspiration

I have been trying to participate in a few more challenges (not just my own!) and found a new to me one this week!  It’s called “Less is More” and this week’s Cue Card is leaves.  I love one layer cards and I had not yet played with my CTMH Lovely Leaves set so this was perfect!!  It was a super fast card to put together – I merely inked my leaf, spritzed the stamp lightly with water and then stamped.  For a little extra, I embossed the sentiment from CTMH’s Here for You set.

supplies: Lovely Leaves stamp set, Here for You stamp set, Juniper, Sweet Leaf and New England Ivy inks, Gold embossing powder

Cyndi’s card is super green and I love her “girlie” little turtles from CTMH’s Some Kinda Wonderful.  Look at those flower sequins, adorable!  This really is the perfect Saint Patrick’s Day card.

supplies: Some Kinda Wonderful, CTMH

I used the  CAS(E) This Sketch layout from last week for this card, but I was too late to share it for the official challenge.  That’s okay!  I love how a sketch can get me started when I’m in a slump – and coming off of the flu and then a bad, bad cold … I have been almost too exhausted to create.  For this card I just spritzed my acrylic block with some assorted green Splash left over from my amuse studio days … and some spritz of water and then stamped the block for my background panel.  The real focus of this card is my CTMH Good Thymes sentiment and herb stamps.  Love this set! Close To My Heart

supplies: Good Thymes stamp set (CTMH), watercolor cardstock (other), Onyx, Green cardstock, white embossing powder and assorted Splash (a|s)

 I hope you join us!

It’s simple to play along:

CTMH Hello Lovely

close to my heart

I needed a quick birthday card and grabbed my CTMH ink pads and the Here for You stamp set from their cardmaking kit.  I shared more about these kits here in this post – it’s a great value!   I have some “toothy” watercolor paper and just lightly spritzed the paper first with water.  Then I could quickly ink and stamp my flowers…I used two shades of the yellow and pinkish toned inks.  Another way to do this (and I did this on some of my leaves if I found that paper had dried) was to ink and then spritz my stamp with water before stamping.  That has a little less “bleeding” if uncontrolled stamping is not your thing or is too scary!  tee hee…  I do love the look of this clean and simple birthday card, how about you?

What rubber stamping supplies do I need for this card?

CTMH – Tea-rriffic

Close To My Heart

Oh happy mail dance here in this house!!  I received these beautiful creations from Mischelle Smith – she’s a mixed media artist and CTMH consultant and long time stamping friend.  Her work makes me swoon!  I shared one more cute little creation on Sunday here.

Here Mischelle played with CTMH’s March Stamp of the Month – Tea-rriffic.  Look at the amazing colors she achieved using their Shin-tan markers.  The depth of shading is so rich and I love the bright colors.  Mischelle also used CTMH Thin Cut heart dies – which lucky you, are on sale this month for 25% off!!  I love that you can use the thin heart shape and also the piece in the middle – double duty!!

CTMH

Retail: $14.95 now on sale for: $11.21

In fact ALL thin cut dies and stamp/die bundles are on sale this month!

This is a great time to stock up and get this month’s STOM for just $5 when you spend $50 – or just buy it out right, that’s an option too!!

Happy Heart from CTMH is perfect for finishing off any type of thank you card you need…it has a nice variety of sentiments, including these two little scribble hearts!  Love this CAS card design – this was one of the 12 cards we made at my recent workshop.

And now on to the winner’s roll call!
