CTMH – Jack for Cardmaking

Close To My Heart

When I first thumbed through the new CTMH Seasonal Expressions 2 catty, this Jack cardmaking stamp set caught my eye immediately and was on my first order!  This little bear is adorable and has so many extra add on details that will make it a fun set for all year round.  There is also a matching thin cuts die set if you don’t enjoy fussy cutting!  I also love that his paws are separate so that gives you even more options.

What rubber stamping supplies do I need to make these cards?

I had to write some thank you notes to a few little boys in my Kindergarten class following Teacher Appreciation week.  I thought this little bear was perfect (although it’s good for boys at any age and, women too, I think!).  I was also happy to dig through my scraps of Some Kinda Wonderful paper.  It has such a fun pattern to it.  This paper is from the last catty and it’s still available while supplies last in the Going Soon! category.

CTMH

The CTMH’s retirement list popped up and quite a few wonderful items moved over to the Going Soon! category.  That means they’ll only be available while supplies last.  Like these You & Me Compliments that are great for scrapbooking but don’t overlook them for quick and easy cardmaking too!  Check out that CAS card above – this clean look was was easy to make using some of these compliment “stickers”.  Love it!  That gold dot paper is going too!  sigh….

Phew!  What a busy but fun month April was.  Did you enjoy the “anything goes” challenge that ran all month long?  We may look at that again for the summer when things should slow down, but life never seems too!  Be sure to check out the new heARTful stamping challenge that started yesterday – it’s a glitter theme (or sparkle of sorts is fine too!).

This month’s theme and monthly prize

Glitter  + a stamp

May 7 – 14

Wow!  We had a  great run having an Anything Goes theme all of April.  This week the heARTful stamping challenge is glitter!

Normally throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  This month is a C R A Z Y month for me with taxes due, inlaws visiting and a Spring Break trip to Germany to visit my sister.

Tomorrow I will be announcing the winner of the CTMH stamp set:  Easter Bunny.  It’s super cute and I think is still perfect for spring!

This Week’s Inspiration

Cyndi sent me a great CAS (clean and simple) card using CTMH’s Dreamin’ Big stamp set.  I love how she has added some small flowers she made in the upper corner and then all of that lovely, sparkly glitter on the wings!  Gorgeous!  This set is now “retired” but you can find many items in the Going Soon section of my CTMH’s webstore…in fact, the next retirement list was just announced so that section is full!

Debi Brile, from That Might Look Good on a Card,  is back this week with a drop dead gorgeous card using CTMH’s National Scrapbooking Live Beautifully campaign paper pack.  She also used white glitter paper and her Artistry Cricut collection (also from CTMH and a wonderful hostess 1/2 price item – hint, hint!) for the love focal point.  Divine!!

My CTMH Live Beautifully Card Workshop

Close To My Heart

I think I am ready for Saturday with round 2 of my cardmaking workshop featuring CTMH’s Live Beautifully stamp set and paper pack.  It’s a special release to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month!  I had a few ladies over yesterday and they really enjoyed making these cards.

What I love about stamping with others is that sometimes (just like I am prone to do with a card I see on Pinterest or in a gallery) the will tweak and change up my card design.  Below, my friend Juliet was in need of birthday cards so I rummaged around in my different sentiments and off she went!

Close To My Heart
I’ll be sharing close ups of my cards in the upcoming week – I just don’t want to spoil all the fun for my guests tomorrow!  If you like this stamp set and paper, don’t miss out because it’s “while supplies last”!

CTMH Live Beautifully Stamp Set

I am super busy prepping for a 10 card workshop this weekend with CTMH’s National Scrapbooking Month special – Live Beautifully.  The wonderful part is that even as a cardmaker, I am getting a LOT of use from this set and the patterned paper pack.  But, because I have been chopping paper for days – I wanted to take a little break and just create a CAS card…I would have included the word “simple” but there is a funny story here too, because as you know, simple cards aren’t always simple to make!!

I love the sentiment “she believed she could so she did” and thought it would look great stamped repeatedly at the bottom.  That is one of the super cool benefits of clear stamps I am finding out – it was so easy to line up these sentiments!  woo hoo!  After stamping and cutting out my roses, I felt the card was a little too stark on my White Daisy cardstock.  I sponged on some Champagne ink to “vintage” it up and even roughed up the bottom edge.  All was going well until I noticed a thumbprint up in the right corner by one of my leaves.  GASP.  So more heavy sponging, this time all around the card.  I think it works though.  Right?!

What rubber stamping supplies do I need to make this card?

This Live Beautifully special release is only available during May – you need to check it out because the paper, scrapbooking layout kit and, of course this stamp set, are lovely!
