heARTful stamping challenge – repeat this!

This week’s theme and monthly prize

repeat “this” + a stamp

Feb 19 – Feb 26

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is to focus on repeating something…but please be sure to use  stamps in your project!  You can find last week’s challenge here.

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I have been working on becoming more “organized” as I start my CTMH business (I’ve been stamping over 11 years now!) and I came across this new and uncut rubber cling set I have that is perfect for this month..  February’s random prize winner will receive this rubber stamp set …

This Week’s Inspiration

I have a lot of floral stamps that I’ve collected over the years.  Some are realistic and others are what I call, funky!  I really liked the possibility that I saw in CTMH’s Shower Flowers.  This set of florals offers a little bit of both worlds!  I also think this color combo is perfect for this time of year – with this mild winter here in Northern VA I can see my daffodils are ready to pop open!

supplies: Shower Flowers stamp set, Dreamin’ Big stamp set from Seasonal Expressions Catalog 1,  Sweet Leaf and White Daisy cardstock, Slate, Canary and Sweat Leaf ink, corner rounder – CTMH; Medium Scalloped border die, twine, Slate Splash – a|s

Last week I had some fun with the emboss resist technique and I have to admit, once I start it, I have a hard time stopping!  So, here we go again!  My set of CTMH watercolor pencils and Operation Smile True Love stamp set came in the mail on Friday.  So exciting.  I’ve been eyeing this stamp set for awhile (I love that $7 from each purchase goes to a great cause – Operation Smile fixes Cleft Palates) but I made myself “pace myself” as I thumb through the CTMH catalog(s).   I had meant to use this week’s Freshly Made Sketches but left off the sentiment part.  I do think the splash ink background and watercolor pencils will be okay for the AAA Card challenge though.  So you have a challenge card within a challenge – tee hee.

This card is a birthday card for my niece and I love that she often wears her long hair in pigtails.  This little gal reminds me of her.  One of the really cool things about CTMH is that many of their patterned paper packs match well across paper packs AND they all have a small decorative strip across the top of each 12 x 12 sheet.  One side is a unique pattern (that matches the set) and the other side tells you the name of the paper pack and the colors that match.  Makes life so SIMPLE!! A little liquid glass makes her heart really shine.

CTMH Dreamin’ Big

Close To My Heart

Finally!  Last week I had promised to show peeks all week from my last cardmaking event.  I did show a cute card using CTMH’s Stamp of the Month (STOM) Easter Bunny here – but then I got caught up in other posts!  Sorry!

Here was one of everyone’s favorite cards (although they were all pretty well received!) using Dreamin’ Big Thin Cuts set (that’s a stamp set and matching die bundled together for a really great price).  It was super easy to coordinate my butterflies with the matching Dreamin’ Big paper pack.

What rubber stamping supplies do I need to make this card?

I know most people appreciate when I can share a card that uses just one stamp set.  This is a perfect example of a CAS card with a few extra details to make it pop.  Like a small strip of White Glitter paper but you could easily use CTMH’s White Shimmer trim that is adhesive backed.

CAS Thank You Notes

I had to make some quick thank you notes for a few of my Kindergartners after Valentine’s Day.  They sang us the cutest song in Music that brought tears to my eyes and a couple of children brought in some gifts that I really had to say an extra “thank you” for.

I had fun grabbing some of my old sets from The Angel Company and amuse studio – I did use my new CTMH watercolor paint set for the heart balloons.

Don’t forget to play along with my heARTful stamping challenge this week – it’s all about LOVE!

heARTful stamping challenge winners!

close to my heart

I know that the card I shared yesterday for this week’s heARTful stamping challenge (it’s all about LOVE!) didn’t really show the gold embossed vellum from CTMH’s Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack.  So, I just wanted to share this better view!  Talk about love!!

And now to talk about our winners the previous heARTful stamping challenge that was to share something “for someone special”.  So many lovely entries – you all made it super hard to pick just 3!
